it just have to be the same FCC ID which is on the back of your original
Don't buy a crossed referenced one.. has to match
make sure the buttons are the same
i bought a spare and for got to get one with remote start on it
mine doesn't have the fcc ID on it
I've also heard the same thing about getting the same FCC # as the old one. That's what I did--although I have an 03.I have purchased various key fobs for my vehicles and have never had to worry about the FCC ID number so I am not sure where that suggestion is coming from. Find a FOB that is listed for your vehicle, pay attention to make sure that it has the proper features and order it.

There are some models that are NOT compatible. I went to order the boostautopart fob today. I didn't see a listing for the suburban after 2011? Although they had it for the Yukon and escalade?? You also need a certain option code. I had the code? So I called and emailed them. Turns out the 2013 suburban with my FCC# is one of the few years that it CANNOT be used with. Kinda bummed....
