I have an 03, with the 5.3 flex fuel, and just recently the front ac seems to not be blowing cold at idle. The rear unit is cold as ice.

I added some Freon, thinking it may be low, but the problem still exists. I noticed during cool mornings its cold. But at idle, and hotter days not so cool.

I have replaced the Ac low pressure switch, checked the fan clutch, did the actuator calibration, all with no positive results, and was told that the Orifice tube could be clogged, and therefore causing the front unit to not cool.

Am i missing anything.

I’m not afraid to turn my own wrenches, i just want to get pointed in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

I just had some AC issues which ended up being caused by the E fans not turning on. However rear blowing cooler than front does sound like a possible Orifice tube problem. They are cheap and very easy to replace. Worst part is vacuuming the system and refilling with coolant after wards.
