So yet again I am extremely disappointed in what people advertise for sale as "MINT or extremely nice or one owner. STOP IT! it's all B.S. And stop telling people you are 99% sure that once you see it and drive in person you will buy it or "first one to see will buy".

This time I only had to drive over 200 miles one way to go buy an extremely nice one owner Yukon SLT just to find out the frame has as much rust as the Titanic. Yeah it may have been a one owner, dealer maintained, clean Yukon. But when you can pull chunks of rusty metal off the frame, and the manifolds look like they have been sitting at the bottom of a lake, and I won't even go on about the brake/fuel lines......oh yeah and I guess new tires these days only have about 1/8" deep tread on them:emotions122:. Give me a bleeping break. How does this qualify in some peoples minds as a mint vehicle. Yes, the guy did provide a bunch of pictures of the exterior, interior, inside the door jambs, but none of the frame rails or underneath...hmmmmm, suspicious. Nice guy and all, but WTF dude? Oh well I guess the right one will come along, after I spend a grand in gas money going to look at them.

Sorry for the useless post, I just felt the need to vent......

Everyone who sees my ride in person says it is "immaculate" or "mint" or "I can't believe you have 146k miles on your Tahoe". I don't think my ride is mint or immaculate, but it is very clean.

Moral of the story? Everyone has different definitions to describe what "mint" and "immaculate" is to them. Most of the time it isn't the same definition you have.

Yes - this is the real problem. And ..Some people (those who have a dealer maintained truck..) may not even know the frame is rusted..

I hear what you are saying, and this is how I feel about my stuff. I am real fussy, and have what I think is pretty nice stuff, but would never tell someone it is what is isn't.

True! But this was at a small dealer who bought it at auction after it was traded in. They knew what it was. Just like the one sitting next to it that had never been in an accident, but had overspray all over the frame rails.

What color was it?

Exterior was Gray! Why do you ask?

I agree! I would rather have a dent in it somewhere, that hasn't been covered up, than rust. It's just disappointing and a struggle to find the right one with the right stuff I guess.

Like I said before Jochen, I will eventually have the East Coast twin to yours! As long as I find the right one in my favorite Gray!

The guy I bout my burb off of told me it was mint. lol... It is far from it. the driver seat has a hole and there is NO power windows or mirrors. The carpeting is gone and has some sort of PPV style rubber mat down there. I like it still but its got its issues. I bought it because for less then 3500.00 really cant be beat.

I have had the same issues in the past, I looked at a 2004 Crew Cab long bed Silverado Duramax a few years ago that was "immaculate", and it DID look good on the outside, but the leather was torn, the carpets were trashed and like stated, the frame had dollar bill sized chunks falling off the frame. I had actually never seen a frame with so much rust. needless to say I didn't buy it.
