Outside tire wear

So I bought new Firestone Destination AT tires and have driven with them for a little over 15,000 miles in only a year and a half. Everything on the front suspension was changed about two years ago, including all four shocks. I noticed the outer tire on the front looked as if it were cupping. The firestone dealer here said maybe the shocks were bad up front. No other wear and no other bouncing from shocks. Now a while later the outside tread is wearing really bad and after all alignment checks it shows it holding alignment and good. What should I be checking or is it an alignment issue? Any response would be appreciated.

Both front tires? I'd agree with the tire dealer that it is from an alignment issue. Could also be caused by driving into corners really hard.

Those were on my Denali when I bought it and I had the same issue in about the same amount of time. I replaced them with Michelin Defenders and had it aligned at the same time. My mechanic said the alignment was within specs and didn't change anything. I now have just under 10K on the Michelins and the tire wear is perfect. There is no rhyme or reason why it chewed up the Firestones.

Both front tires yes, and I had michelins on before and they were way worse. The truck has been holding an alignment now for well over a year. Firestone has a 50K warranty so guess I'll just try and get two new ones and see how they do.

Carefully check the outside diameter on the REAR tires! If you have the LIMITED SLIP differential, the vehicle will pull to one side with different diameter tires, not noticeable in the steering. After awhile of driving the LS diff will get hot and almost lock, accentuating the pull and wearing the outside edge on one front tire. Been there done that. Change oil to synthetic and add the special oil to the diff. Went through 2 front tires with no explanation from the experts!

01 suburban came with Destinations stock. Had to replace them yearly as they just couldn't keep up.

Switched to Michelin LTX's and eventually to Cooper Discoverer HTP's - all the wear problems disappeared with either of the latter 2
