Somebody tell me how to do it so I don't break anything. I want to remove the filler blank at the very forward end of the overhead console on my 99' Hoe. I'm looking at the possiblility of putting my Scangauge in there.

The blank moves around some but I haven't been able to get it out yet, I don't want to damage it, if theres some sort of hidden catch that holds it in.

it clips in there when you pull the overhead down you will see.

Thanks Sun,

Do I actually have to take the console down to to get it out or can I pry it out or pop it out somehow?

Is that the spot in the console that you were going to move yours to? If so were you going to put it inside the console for were you just going to velcro it to the outside of the console?

i would drop it down to do it but i was thinking more along the line of mounting it on the side of the overhead console facing me with fabrication needed to get it to stay on and cable feeds. I want to get a second scangauge2 first and piggy back them. It would only take a minute but i yet to check to see how the contrast of display will look at the eye angle. should not be a problems tho. was thinking of taking a roughly one inch wide aluminum strip with screw holes that are countersunk and other holes as need for cables and screw mounting on console. and then overlay some thin strong all plastic Velcro. not the kind that has fiber loops that would probably be a little loose. that is the plan anyway.

useful space of there for that and switches and stuff if i recall when i had mine down to install some proximity and antenna wiring.

You know the is the black shroud in the dash bezel that fits over cluster. If you view is good maybe stick them on the upper part over the tach and/or fuel/volt gauge since there is unused space there.

hmm wonder if wires will fit in there. Seem like the perfect for gauges.:)

Under the shroud could work, I'll have to wait until they come in later this week and see. Thanks again, Sun.

I popped mine out with my knife earlier it has 4 small clips I may end up putting my trans temp gauge and something else in there seems like a good place for gauges.

yep. thinking that might be the best place now. you getting two?

I'm getting the Scangauge2 and the ScangaugeE. Gotta have that graph.

I want to use the SG2 to prove or disprove gains from future mods. Gonna do alot of baselines before I add anything else. With most all the bolt on mods only adding 10hp or less, I would like to have a way to make sure its not all just a bunch of hype.

I'll use the SGE to help adjust my driving habits. I already know what kind of mpg I'm getting (12.5 - 13.5 mixed driving). Maybe I can improve it slightly with driving habit adjustments.

I'll have to give it another try, I didn't want to break it, did you pry on one of the short sides or on the long sides?

You can do it without the graphs you just have to read changing numbers instead. The sg2 has readings for instant and average mpg as well as gallons per hour, total cost of trip among others obviously. I think the graph is just a representation of one of the first three I listed.

just relized you may want to ask if two different models can be piggy backed.

Yea, I knew I could do mpg without the graph, but besides the fact that I wanted the graph, I also want to dedicate the E to mpg monitoring and have the SG2 for everything else.

According to the website you can. I saw it somewhere on there.
