Hello,
I am desperately trying to find a picture of an overhead console for my 2003 Yukon XL. Here's the deal...I bought this vehicle used, and the previous owner had installed a flip-down monitor where the console/light above the 2nd row goes. It's a piece of junk, and I like the headrest ones better anyway, so I went to GM and got the part number for it (15166065). The problem is, this is the best they can do with the picture (see attached).

I have looked everywhere online, and been to 2 dealerships trying to find someone with this option, and cannot find one anywhere. So, I have 2 questions:
1. Can anyone send me a picture of what this part actually looks like (i.e. not a drawing like I attached). If you have dimensions that would be great as it would let me know if it will cover the hole left by the monitor I'm removing.
2. Can anyone tell me how this attaches to the roof (i.e. interpret the attached drawing).

Thanks so much...I am desperate.

10 3/8" x 9 3/4" outside to outside. The cutout is 1/2" smaller all the way around. So 9 3/8" x 8 3/4" cutout

Do you have a picture of it that you could send me? I cannot find one anywhere, and I mean *anywhere*. I have looked at dealerships, called GM, GM resellers, AC Delco, all over the web...I would be extremely grateful...

Don't know if an audiovox is a stock unit but if it is I can take a pic of mine! Let me know, not sure if mine came stock in my truck or if someone else put it in!!

I appreciate it, but I'm pretty sure the Audiovox isn't stock. I assume you're talking about a DVD player that came in yours. What I'm looking for would just be some kind of factory dome light assembly. Thanks though...

Oh sorry, I misread your question, mine is indeed a overhead flip-down screen with lights!!!

i would help but mine only had the dome light...no console. does that console have the rear AC controls for the units that dont have them built into the rear seat audio controls? thats where our AC controls are....

is this it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-0...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a63c75a6c

and I would assume it would just screw into the roof. there is a wide support that goes across right there (thats what I screwed my DVD player into)

Mine has the A/C controls built into the floor center console. I'm wondering if the dealer only has a generic picture of what this thing should look like, or what. I agree that it looks perfectly sized for the A/C controls, but in my case they are located elsewhere, so I don't know what that space would be used for.

What's frustrating is that I can't find a real life picture of this part number anywhere. I've tried calling multiple places but no luck. It's like I need someone at the parts warehouse to take it out of the box and take a picture for me.

That picture does look very similar, save for the A/C controls. When I looked on ebay for other GMC overhead consoles, I came across this one:

So that one looks like it just has a black plastic "storage" compartment...maybe that's what they do if the A/C controls are elsewhere? Any guesses?

That's fine, but the only discrepancy then would be that the GM dwg doesn't seem to show that black plastic portion.

I'm about to either put my old one on craigslist or honestly throw it away. I have two remotes and a pair of headphones. Came out of a 2005 Denali XL. Hell if you live near or in Chicago you can take it.

Handshake and a pat on the back.

Good luck

I appreciate it, but I've already got the headrest DVD players. The previous owner had done an install with a flip-down monitor in the ceiling. It's a piece of junk and I just want to get the vehicle back to how it looked from the factory, but have been having trouble finding out just what was up there originally.

Thanks though...
