Overheating

So recent update on the truck , heads went to the shop to be resurfaced. Got a call back from mechanic saying machine shopped said heads are cracked, repair is not worth it.

New heads will be installed tomorrow ($370) out the door :(

So all that's left is spark plugs, and apparently a new starter on top of it.

Just wondering any other known issues these truck have with the engine while I have it apart ?

Well if you use the gaskets set I mentioned and do the spider you should be in great shape. Make sure you dizzy gear is in good shape.

I did in fact get that the gasket u showed me but is the spider really necessary?

I want to say yes if it is the old one. Otherwise we here will never let you hear the end of it. if the old one malfunctions it is going to be very hard to tell it did cuase it can cause all other kinds of problems that make you think something else is wrong. the new design will run better and cleaner in your engine. and no need to worry about it for probably 100,000 miles at least.
