Hi all,
First huge thanks for the previous help with the p0172 and p0175 codes. The advice was to keep cleaning the throttle body when the code appears and that has been solving the code for the last 20k. Every 1-2 months, on the clock. It got very recent lately, once a week the last 3 weeks.
I got a new code today P0324. Knock sensor.
To add to this, last week I got the car into a small shop and they told me p072 got thrown when they started the truck, with note on their obd tool that the fuel pressure was low. They quoted $1500 but no guarantee if this will all get fixed. They suggested to drive until the truck starts losing power before high pressure fuel pump replacement.
So what are my options here:
1) I can bring the car to a dealership. Based on previous experiences this will be at least 3-4 times more expensive than the shop. They know their stuff though.
2) I am mechanically inclined and not afraid to roll the dice. I can open the manifold, replace the high pressure fuel pump and the knock sensor, and hope for the best.
3) Other approaches?
Again, thanks for the prev help, it delayed this moment by almost year, it really helped here (money wise).
