After 4 years with the burb, This is code is driving me nuts and I want to tackle it once and for all !! And it also has a hard start issue when I start it up in the morning and first start my day

Have driven and cycled the ECM a few times and only code that pops up is the famous 0446 evap canister

Already got a new gas cap, So now its the canister itself. I heard you can remove it and just AIR out the crap but for $20 rather just replace the damn thing !!

AC-Delco # 214-1091

would I also need this ??

AC-Delco 214-646 the surge purge valve

Thanks,
Dave

Honestly, you might as well buy all the bits to and have a fresh new EVAP system. I had the P0442 (Small EVAP leak) for almost 2 years and had to fix it so I could pass DEQ (Oregon's emission testing) and get new tags. I started with the gas cap, moved to the purge valve, then the vent valve, and lastly the vapor canister. After the vapor canister I went through a ECM cycle and the codes been off ever since. All in all, cost me $170-ish for everything. Another bonus is I went from like high 12's to mid 14's on my mpg according to my SIC.

Also, if your vapor canister hasn't been relocated in front of the gas tank now would be a good time to do it.

Parts I used minus the gas cap:
ACDelco 214-646
ACDelco 214-1091
ACDelco 215-407

Ya thanks but not looking to spend to much $$$ on it. Planning on getting a newer burb or XL Denali this fall and the state I currently live in we LUCKILY don't have to deal with any emission BS :)

I guess i'll do 214-646 and 214-1091 $45 for both and go from there
