Ok today i got my truck back from the transmission shop where my transmission got rebuilt and the guy told me that my truck was giving out the code P1345 CKP/CMP Correlation and i did a search on this forum and only came up with three hits but none of them tell me what it means well it does but the problem is that my truck runs normal there's no shacking nothing it just throws out the p1345 code is this something that i should be concern cause i just droped a lot of cash to it and dont want something major to go wrong with it again because i have ran out of cash.

No, don't worry. Mine was doing this, but was running poorly, and it turned out the distributor was a tooth off, probably from the last rebuild of the engine. A tune-up at a shop will cost you about $150, and can't be done by us. It takes a tech-II scanner. If your sensors are bad, they're $10/a piece, and are easy to change. One is on the distributor, and the other is on the timing belt cover, IIRC. This code will cause you to fail emissions though, and should trip the SES light.

Ok i was getting worried there i though i had to fix something expensive.

The tune-up was done back in july when the engine got replace and i only drove it for two months and about 2000 miles when my tranny went bad and it sat for four months in my driveway.

I'm going to replace the two sensors you mentioned ravingmadman and if that dont take the SES light i'm going to take it back where it got the tune-up and see if they can fix it. Good thing we dont have to do the emissions stuff here where i live to get our plates.

All you have to do is look at the Camshaft retard timing, and it should be at 0 degrees plus or minus 2 degrees. If it exceeds around 14 degrees retarded timing IIRC, then the light will illuminate. Usually the light is accompanied by rough idling, but you say the engine is idling fine so it may be borderline out of timing. If the crank sensor was bad, the truck would NOT start at all. I say its the dist. that just needs to be adjusted. They might have removed it to get better access to the top tranny bolts on the bellhousing and didnt place it in the correct position. They should be able to adjust it for free, at least I would if it was at my shop.

Yeah, I wouldn't even bother replacing the sensors yet. Get it on a scaner, and check what 99Yukon_Z71 said. Then you'll have a course of action. And if you don't have a course of action, we'll be here for you.

Take it back to the shop and have them adjust the dist.

And like 99Yuk mentioned, should be free, only takes but 10 minutes to do, if at that.

Oh and you can get a scanner that reads cam retard for $250, then you can do the tune ups yourself.

Update on this

Well its been a while since i put an update but here it goes when i took the truck in to the shop where the truck got the engine put in he told me that there was no P1345 in it that it was a o2 sensor but by that time it got real bad in the weather here where i live so i didnt get to replace it so i drove the truck like that thinking it was the sensor that was triping my ses light on but as soon as it started to get nice outside the ses light went away until last week when it came back and i finaly took it to advance to find out which sensor it was but he told me it was the P1345 code not the sensor and one thing that i notice was that when i have that code it idles a lil rough but not that much tho but just enough to feel it.

My ? is why does it come on sometimes and goes away by its own can anybody help me on this?

If the dist was off wouldnt this code be on all the time?

Stop driving it with it throwing codes like that, go to a decent mechanic and have it looked at.

He is a decent mechanic and when he checked it with his scanner which is the one he got from snap on tools its as big as a mini laptop bout two weeks ago it showed that it was the o2 sensor i was there with him. But with the scanner that advance uses it showed that it was the P1345 code.

I have the P1345 code. It seems to run fine, although it has a little skip. Does usually just mean it's a little off.
