Hi all, wife's truck suddenly running rough. Tick on the right side. Warning light on.
2017 Yukon Denali(6.2) 118004 miles
Thought it might be bad fuel but ran over to the box store and got it scanned. Popped a P304 only, no P204. So it seems it could be that injector is fouled or shot? In any case a google search brought up a
Special Coverage Adjustment N182198000 Engine Fuel Injector (chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10163854-9999.pdf) As i read it it extends coverage on failed injectors up to 150000 miles.
"Condition Some 2016 and 2017 model year Cadillac Escalade, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Suburban, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, GMC Yukon, and GMC Yukon XL vehicles, equipped with a 5.3L or 6.2L engine, may have a condition which affects fuel injector function. Under certain circumstances one or more of the vehicle’s fuel injectors may deliver an improper amount of fuel to the engine. If this occurs, the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Check Engine Light) will illuminate, the engine may idle or run rough, and the vehicle may stall. A diagnostic trouble code related to the fuel injector may be set. This special coverage only applies to vehicles in these states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington."
This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership. For vehicles covered by Vehicle Service Contracts, all eligible claims with repair orders on or after July 26, 2019, are covered by this special coverage and must be submitted using the labor operation codes provided with this bulletin. Claims with repair orders prior to July 26, 2019 must be submitted to the Service Contract provider.
Has anyone had any experience with this. If it's covered I'll take it in, if not I may wrench it myself. Was going to run injector and coil test in the AM.
