I'm gonna paint / sand some plastic pieces tomorrow on the truck, in example the back pillars. What kind of black paint should I use I'm doing base + clear. Should I wet sand in say 800 grit? Or just scuff it up with something?

+1 on gloss black being too much. Semigloss/Satin Black would be the way to go IMO.

Take a look at this guy's truck (In my opinion the best looking 2 door around to date) what color black is that? It looks like a semigloss/satin black. Am I right?

They make a spray paint for plastic with different colors that doesn't require to do anything... unless you are looking for the smooth look, that's a different story...

Yeah I would say that's a semi-gloss/satin black. It's definitely not flat and doesn't look like gloss either.

When I did my tail lights, I used 400 grit to scuff up the smooth plastic then 1000 the paint before clear....go that route and you should be golden.
