Painting front grill

I just went to a body shop to get a quote to have the chrome painted black to match my paint on my LT Suburban. The guy told me I was the second person this week to ask that and he said the manager won't paint it because they can't guarantee it or warranty because it's a plastic material or something!! I can't do the plasti dip like Angel has done so what are my options. If I find a body shop that will paint it will it last and adhere or will it come off?

Weird because they can always spray it with flex and the paint. If they afraid that is plastic and might crack.

I thought it was weird also now I need to find someone. Do you think it would be better to go to another body shop or a different kind of shop? I wish you were near PA Angel then I could pay you to do my Suburban!

Unless you are really in love with the stock grill there are lots of black grills you can just install instead.

I'm not in love with it so you're probably right it would be cheaper to buy one almost! But I would have to get it installed. Where's a good place to look for grills? EBay? Thanks

I bought a spare LTZ GRILL to get color matched but I'm trying to figure out how to remove the chrome trim above the headlights any body have a clue? Thanks

Yeah, bought the grill off eBay and installed it myself. It's a fairly straightforward install but a bit time consuming since it requires removing the front bumper cover entirely. Took me about 2.5hrs to install.

I did a vinyl wrap on those. Didn't need to remove them for it.
