Ok, as some of you may have seen I had recently herculined my bumpers and rockers/fenders. The stuff is durable so far and looks badass, but can be a pain to clean after offroading or just driving dirt roads. But I am also wanting to change the look and throw some chrome on too.

So here's my plan. I bought a quart can of Herc today and I'm gonna clean the liner good with car soap like usual and than scrub some TSP cleaner with a had bristle brush. I'm thinkin take DA sander with some 80 grit and scuff it all up and knock any loose stuff off. Recoat it for some more mill coverage and fresh surface for the paint.

I asked my dad for advice since he owns a industrial blasting and painting company. He recommended Sherwin Williams 2 part Hi Solids white polyurethane gloss or semi gloss paint. Last summer we blasted and painted a mine dragline with this and it looks awesome and is durable as hell!!!

So after I recoat with some liner I will let it cure a while and than roll on the Hi solids within the window of recoat time. So all of the Herculiner will be white as a result I'm hoping for haha.

Than order up some window visors and wiper cowl and paint them white. I just painted my rear vents white and deleted my roof rack. And I want to order some chrome ATX rims with -12mm offset. Will take pics of process and post if the outcome turns out good!

u could always just use a tintable liner like raptor liner. be sure to use the proper amt of hardener and put on a good wet coat. will come out mildly slick (dirt cant get in the holes if there are none ) but still tough

I've got to redo my whole liner. How much did the herculiner run? Did you order online?

hey guys, sorry for not being on here for a while.

Update with herculiner. I do not recommend it anymore. I have multiple spots along rockers and around fenders its wearing off and can see paint through. I doubt it was from prep because I went above called directions for sanding and cleaning. But who knows, I may have screwed up somehow.

But after college I would like to repaint the whole yukon white with tanner rockers and bumpers. I have a buddy with a 08 f250 and he built some bumpers for it and sprayed on monstaliner and than painted over it with base/clear coat. The monstaliner looks amazing on it. I will try to get some pics of it soon so you can see.
