I didn't want to start a new thread, but interest in the old thread died.

So, took my Tahoe to the dealer for non-working Park Assist. Once I arrived at the dealership, Murphy's Law, they suddenly worked again.

When I got home I discovered they only work when something is 6" to 12" from the bumper. Is this normal?

On my Ford Excursion they start sounding off when I am 5 feet from hitting something. The beeping gets louder and faster the closer I get to anything I am about to back into. I can't imagine Chevrolet would only work from 6" to 12".

look in your rearview mirror, there are some lights in the rear pillar, driverside. It only makes the fast beep when you should stop.

OK, just went out and tested it. I found the warning lights you speak of. One yellow led lights up, then two yellow leds, then finally a red led comes on. By the time the red led comes on you're way too close to stop unless you're rolling at a dead snail's pace. :Boo:

The Ford Park Assist wins hands down over the Chevrolet system

It is not working correctly. Mine starts the first beep at about 5-7' and the final quick beeping at around 1-2'. My '07 was the same.

x2....I'd say yours (Sheriff) aren't working correctly. When mine beeps the first time I'm not even close to anything at all many times. It's just a little warning shot letting me know that I've got a few feet before I might back into something.

It only beeps once per "step" as you get closer to the wall or whatever.

That's the way they should work, in my opinion.

Seems mine are broken after all.

Thanks!

The first yellow led comes on with no sound at about 12"

The second yellow led comes on with no sound at about 6"

The red led comes on and sounds off as soon as I am 1" from hitting something.

Guess I will be going back to the dealer.
