It seems the tires on my AWD Yukon are fighting for which direction to go when doing tight turns (like in a parking lot). Is this normal?

It seems like I've had this problem before on one of our rides and my mind is telling me that putting on new tires (w/o alignment) cured the problem. Could it be just crummy tires on my Yukon?

I think at low speeds it is normal as the wheels are still turning, but at slightly different speeds.
Is this only at almost Full Lock?

Yes or close to it. When I am at full lock, I hear a click from the driver's kick panel. I assume it's disabling something with the AWD. There's lotsa funny noises coming from there when traction is lost.

AWD is a complicated system, but I know I have left my 4wd on by mistake sometimes and go to turn and then I say oh shit I forgot... lol
