Passenger side blowing hot air.

My older brother borrowed my Tahoe for a trip to the lake and noticed the passenger side air vents only blow extremely hot air. The driver side is just fine and cold but no matter what I do to adjust the AC, the passenger side remains hot.

My guess is it is the actuator located behind the glovebox, since it controls what temperature the air on the passenger side comes out as. If so I could just order this part and have my dad install it rather than spending a fortune at the dealer.

Just want to see if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it - I thought there was a thread on this a long time ago but I did a search and found nothing.

My cousin had the same problem is his silverado last year. He was told to disconnect the battery then reconnect it. Then start your truck but dont mess with the ac controls, wait for a couple minutes then see if it works.

Thanks for the info. I went and tried that just now and it blew cold air for a few seconds then went straight back to hot.

Zach on a differant issue have you done any new mods to the Escalade? I know you were going to do some plat. stuff have you done that? Any other good ideas I can mod on my Esky? I hope you get your air fixed

Happened on my 04 Denali... The damn dealer replaced the passenger side actuator on accident and made me pay for it - not happy. It was something like $300, not sure if it'll be the same price though
