Passkey code? Help?

Alright so I went to a local GM dealership to get a crank relearn, and they scanned me and told me they got a P1631; bad passkey. I asked what exactly that was and he said it has to do with a chip in the ignition cylinder? That guy seemed like a TOTAL moron, so I don't know. Went straight to my mechanic/friend after that and he told me that the only thing he knows about passkeys is that it's a little chip inside the actually key.

So I don't know what to think, obviously it's nothing bad since my truck runs like a ***** ape, but im curious if you guys can shed some light here and let me know if I need to get this problem fixed. Thanks.

Also, from a quick google search I see it has to do with the computer system? I had to do a security relearn when I installed my BB Tuned PCM, could I have messed something up?

Well Justin from BBP told me it's most likely just a history code. He said the codes pops up when you initially start it, and after you complete the security relearn it can stay on as a history code.
