Hello guys.
Decided to buy a 2 door tahoe. Never owned a lifted vehicle and have one I am ready to fly out to get. Can you guys look at these pics and see it it looks good? The guy bought is as sits and does not know much about it including how many inches it is lifted

Does it all look ok? What should I know about buying a 2 door and what should I be looking for and why to avoid?

Based off this picture alone I can telly you it is cranked too far and rides horrible. CV boot looks like it is at a hell of an angle and the UCA looks very close to the droop stop. Quality shocks will do nothing if they're stretched out. If the tires are not too big you can hopefully decrank it a bit and save the front end.

Have him get you more pictures of the suspension and I can confirm or take back what I said.

I agree with yates. Those cv boots look awful and will be splitting shortly. I also don't like the way the diff is angled. Imagine how hard it is to get lube to the bearing at the output with it tilted like that. Any pics of the front diff set up? That cheesy looking spacer at the top of the shock looks like hell, also.

Does it seem like this is one to skip? The guy is not helpful and knows nothing. It's higher then I want. I would like just a 6 inch and maybe 3 body.. thoughts? Anyone know of any nice ones for sale? Any help would be appreciated as I do not know what to look for.

The first red flag is that the guy bought it and is now selling it right away. If he had it for a while he would know more about it. He is already having problems with it and wants out from under it and hopes you will be his savior. I would not skip this one, I would run away quickly. It is a mess and will cost you more than it is worth. IMO. If is not what you want then walk away and keep looking. We found problems quickly just in a few pics.

Good luck with your search.

I have been looking for the same thing. I used to own a 96 2 door that I let get away. DAMN! There are some around but is hard to find one in decent enough shape. The thing about around here and up there is that when we do find them they are typically not rusted out. That is a big plus. I did find a 96 recently and texted the guy for more pics. Then 2-3 days go by with no pics or contact. I finally called the number and a lady answers and said the price was reduced from $2300 to $1000. I asked why and she said the guy was now locked up in jail with no hope to get out and someone had tried to steal the Tahoe and broke out the steering column. Can't even start it now and no extra pics so I passed. Sounded like one to stay away from like the one you posted pics about. Try checking out Eugene CL and if you find one you like you can let me know and I can look at it before your trip here.
