Hi guys... I've had the typical "Traction Active" DIC where power cuts out for no reason (dry roads, going straight) and "Service Stability" DIC alerts for the past year and a half. I've read up on this quite a bit and I'm sick of throwing money at parts which aren't fixing it.
So far I've replaced all 4 ABS wheel speed sensors (including filing clean the front connection spot) and replaced the steering wheel position sensor. I cleaned up the front sensors today and noticed that they were pretty gooped up on the inside (crap covering the sensor). I cleaned them all up but still not working.
Not sure what else it could be?? ABS module, maybe? I currently have the ABS fuse (60a under the hood) removed because otherwise the brakes are all weird. With the ABS fuse removed, could the issue still be the ABS module? I assumed not, but maybe I'm wrong...
I have to manually turn off the traction control button every time I start the car... so basically I have no ABS or traction control.
Any suggestions? Any way to figure this out besides blowing money trying out parts? I guess I should take it to a dealer but I'm not really fond of getting buttocks'd by them.
Maybe I should sell the dumb thing! It's a 2003 Denali XL with 176k miles.
