Police Center caps on Stock Steel Wheels

Is there a specific write up on how to get the police center caps to work with stock non PPV style wheels? I am picking up a set of stock 17'' 8 hole silverado wheels tomorrow and my buddy has some chrome PPV center caps he will sell me cheap but there are 6 lug holes and three alternate smaller holes. Do I just have to drill out the three smaller holes to attach a nut and bolt or what? Can't I just use the 6 lugs and leave the smaller holes empty? Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question.

Doubt they will fit either way. Lug pattern is different and will be off center.

Well that sucks, I guess I will just have to rock the fugly ones that stick way out I guess.
