You don't have electronic suspension.

If you're bouncing all around sounds like your shocks are gone.

Did you see my response in the Tahoe PPV (police package) thread?

Regardless, the wheels n tires are going to have an effect on your ride.

04Bucket,

What options are you looking for? What do you want to change?

Not so much what I want to change...but seems like something is off in the ride quality. It handles great, but at 70+ it starts to shake a bit. Not dangerously, or even in the steering wheel very much. It feels more like the body/chassis is shaking. Put new ujoints in, had tires balanced...vibration still there.

I've had that problem on and off for over a year now. Get your alignment checked. Mine was out pretty severely and the tech said that it was like one tire was trying to pull the vehicle one way and the other was trying to pull it the other way. Lead to some pretty pronounced vibration, also some hopping and feeling like the truck would spin out on "whoops" on highways, like where there's a depression in the road for a storm sewer grate.

Factory wheels are 17s. You went up SEVEN inches in rigidity in your wheels meaning more unsprung weight and less shock absorption through the tires.

My '08 PPV rides hard...because it's supposed to. It's got tight suspension and corners as well or better than most cars today. I'm running the factory 17s it was designed for.

As an example my '12 Pursuit charger rode like a dream on the police 18s. I put some Challenger 20s on it and the ride and handling went to crap. It was a brand new car with maybe 800 miles on it. I went back to the 18s and never looked back.

I have a 2009 Tahoe SSV. I am looking into replacing the rear shocks. Can anyone tell me what exactly the " Police package " is as far as suspension? Every time I look for shocks online, it always says " w/o police package ". I know my RPO code for rear is ZW7, Which is the Premium smooth ride. I can never seem to get an answer on what I need to do. I would like to convert my entire suspension to Z71. Can I just get rear shocks and springs for a Z71? Or is it more complicated than that?
