Tossing this out there as I have been having some problems over the past 2 weeks with my power folding steps. Anyways basically when the drivers door is open the step rails should fold out however mine start to then come back in. Other times they will come all the way out but stay stuck down....only way to get them to come back up is to start the car and open close driver or passenger door a few different times until you hear them fold in. Temporarily I have disabled them and I have put WD-40/Silicone spray which hasnt helped out much to be honest.

Any other individuals have problems with them?? can not enough battery power cause them to not work?? they randomly work when the car is started and motor running. I only have 65k on my esky. Is this something I should take into Cadillac and have them take a look? the first time I found out that there was a problem our 40lb son was getting in and it started to shut onto his leg whenever he slipped off and i shoved my foot into the slot before it pinched him. I wasnt sure if it was going to stop or not. I have heard that it does detect weight an so forth but wasnt sure it was 40lb detection or not.

Anyones help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure as I bought the GM Major gaurd. First ever extended warranty I've purchased. Was a little nervous with all the little electrical things going bad. But I have heard they do not hold up well in places with snow or where the under side gets alot of dirt.

By the way just looked up the motors 291.00 a piece list, gmpartsdirect is 177.00 one per side and each side is specific to the side its for.

thanks man. I can get the parts at cost so not to worried about it. Just hoping they would replace under warranty. Taking the car in as well to get the door handles replaced that are peeling and cutting up mine and my wifes hand.

both our cars did that aswell. After they reflashed it we have not had a problem since. They said rarely ever did they have to replace the whole board. If you live in a snowy place I can see the boards going bad with the gunk that comes from the road.

im from Dallas, Texas so Snow and dirt isnt a big deal around here to be honest. What do you mean by reflashed??? just flash the ECU?

That's actually kinda funny because I took it to Sewell. They said it was a reflash. I'm guess it was an update to the ecu
