I just bought a 2004 Tahoe z71 and it has full power seats including heated seats.

The recliner works fine

The seat itself moves forward and backwards

Issue is that the seat cushion won't raise or lower. Right now it's in a tilted downward position and really annoying to where I'm sliding off and it's also in the lowest position.

When I try to raise the cushion height it doesn't make any noise I don't think I will have to check again but when I press down on it , it makes a clicking noise not sure if that's because it's already in the lowest position or not.

I also don't know if the cushion heated seat works but I know the recliner part of where your back seats against does.

any ideas? I'd appreciate it. Today was my first day driving it so I'll try to investigate some more

Probably need a new motor. Everything on my seat works except recline/incline. The motors are like 100$

I'm basically having the same exact problem as the one in this video

I've done some research about loosening up the jack screw or removing it so I tried both but problem still hasn't got fixed. I can see the motor turning which tells me the switch also works so if the motor makes noise it's neither the switch or the motor?

Any other ideas as this is really uncomfortable to drive like this. Could there be a wire maybe that got disconnected?

I've also read of people pulling the switch out and cleaning with wd-40 but if the motor is making noise then maybe not my issue? If I hood the switch down you can hear clicking noise

Update for anyone else having a similar problem

I wiggled the motor while activating the switch and the rear side of the cushion now works.

Now I just can't get the front side of the cushion to raise. Press the switch and I hear a click.

Maybe the front side of the cushion and rear side of the cushion seat work on different motors but the wiggle trick worked making it somewhat better to drive but just need to figure the front out and I'll be set

On my 2000 suburban I have the same issue. If I press the wire harness a certain way then I am able to move my seat back.

Mine 2004 Denali had the front tilt stuck in the lowest position. I was able to unbolt the jack screw, manually raise the seat up to the highest position, unscrew the jack screw to accommodate the new position and reinstall. Seemed the motor had thought it reached its high limit (sensor by voltage). Anyway, that did it. Easy enough to try.
