The power window on my 98 tahoe needs to be replaced. I have successfully removed the panel and drilled out the rivits that held the motor to the scissors assembly. I am looking for advise as to the next steps needed to mount the new motor to the old assembly. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd either re-rivet or use 1/4-20 hex head bolts & NYLOCK nuts.

I replaced the rear door motor in my 2000 a couple years back, but don't recall exactly what fasteners I used for certain.

The rivets are larger than I can find locally and I don't think I can get the motor in place and access a nut if I try to do it that way. I am thinking that I should take off the scissor assembly, mount the new motor using stainless steel bolts, and then remount the entire assembly. I am hoping that someone here may have already done the job so I can avoid making any mistakes (as I am most apt to do) and put it back together where it works the first time.
I will certainly let you know once I have it all done.

unknown at this time.
The dealer has the rivets. About$2 a piece. The downside you might need the big rivet tool instead of the handheld one. But a body shop has one.

Can you tap the motor housing holes to the closest size and use your stainless bolts & loctite them in?

I used bolts and they work just fine. Trimmed them up and plugged in the motor to make sure clearance wasn't an issue and should you ever need to replace it again its easier to disassemble
