It is kind of cool to think that a collection of parts and an unpainted body shell can be assembled into a running and driving machine in only a few hours.

Pretty cool, that is a great outlet for many who do not witness the manufacturing process day to day, so they can have a better understanding of what goes in to making their products. It's also cool to see people who are excited about what they make and serving their customer.

that paint line is crazy

It's sad that GM has a shuttered plant in Dayton, Ohio like that one. the plant used to build the Blazers then Trail Blazers. It's also built the S-10 and S-15 over the years.

They had dropped over $30 million in the paint line about 4 years before shutting it down in December of 2008.
