Prices???

so i am going to get a few things painted and i need some advice on the prices as to what i might expect; so that i know i am not getting ripped off.

1) i have painted mirror covers, but i want the rest of it painted. so i would need the lower half sanded and painted, and the base that goes up against the door sanded and painted.

2) i want to get the sidesteps painted. NOT the part that you step on, but everything else. i also want it sanded smooth first and then painted.

3) front grill painted

4) Taillights smoked including 3rd brake light

5) and the plastic pieces where the window meets the door on all 4 doors. (they are chrome on escalade's....if you dont know what i am talking about.

not sure on prices, but search 2-3 shops.

i know that tail lights are probably going to be around 250 including the third light.

It will probably be the same price to just buy new aftermarket tail lights

maybe so, but then someone here would give you estimates, so then you could go to local shop then, and get their estimate

saves the middle man

just playing man...but when you go to these shops, see if they have a guy that 'does it on the side'...I have a buddy that runs a body shop, and does a ton on the side at home in his shop. Less than half shop rates.

Just went to get an estimate on some of this stuff so I can share the prices I was quoted. They seemed pretty fair to me and if you get the other stuff done too you can probably work a deal.

Running Boards- $150
Mirror Covers- $100

If you end up getting the plastic under the windows painted post some pics, haven't seen that done yet, might be cool.

thanks madodger......that is exactly what i was looking for. it might be a while, but i am expecting to get a lot done here by the end of the year...i will post pics for sure.
