My wife's Yukon while driving down the road will stop blowing cold. You have to turn the truck off and then restart it. What could it be?

Do you have the digital dual zone AC controller? Mine does and the blend door actuator is going bad. Normally I just leave it on 60 degrees all the time. If I leave it on higher than that then the door could get caught by the air from the blower and since the actuator is weak it will push the door to block the evaporator and let the air pass over the heater core. Which makes it blow HOT even though it says it is on 60 degrees. So by shutting off the car and restarting than the door goes back to the original commanded position.

The actuator varies from around $60-$200 depending on what type of control head your truck has.

Mine is the full digital and wholesale price from a Chevy dealer is $180 but Dorman makes aftermarket ones and the one for my truck is $120 from Rockauto.

Hope this helps.

I did replace an actuator on one with the manual dual zone sliders. Luckily for you that actuator was only about $60 from the dealer.

I did actually replace both the blower motor and the resistor today. On blower speeds 4 and 5 it would make alot of noise. The reason I replaced the resistor was because on my 3500 this weekend it went out and the wiring harness started to overheat and began to melt. I never knew this was a problem until I started researching why all of the sudden my AC went out. On both vehicles it was a very easy fix once I realized what needed to be done. Now the only thing left to repair is the REPLACE LIFTGATE FUSE error I get on the odometer. It started after I did the leather swap and etc. Everything I have tried has not worked.
