Well I first noticed this problem when I would roll up the window, it wouldn't sound right. Now I looked at it a little bit more, if the window is down then I can grab the window and move it around quite a bit... almost like it's hinged in one place. The door panel isn't on all the way (Could probably fit the black end of the car key in the space) and I don't see any way to make it go on any more.

Sounds like it has come out of the retainer. Unless you have done this type of work before and if your still in warranty then head for the stealership. If your out of warranty check around at local auto glass shops....will be much cheaper on the wallet.

Correct it isn't your "normal" DIY project. I would have no problem doing it but then again I have been around vehicles for almost 50 years. If they will let you observe you can see the little tricks that will take the apprehension out of diving in the next time you run across it.

Good luck and Merry Christmas

Mine were super loose, too. Took it to the dealer, and then sured them up a little bit. They still aren't "tight" by any stretch. Probably a less-than-perfect design.

Alright, I explored earlier and I could use advice.

  • It IS on the track
  • Window is tight in the "vice"

Now what I have for questions
  • It appears like the cables coming from the motor have a little too much slack in them, it may be because the shrouds have extra tubing, but it seemed like unless the window was all the way up or all the way down, BOTH of the wires were loose, I could literally pull on both of them and they would move with little effort
  • The track is bent slightly. I'm not sure if this is to match the contour of the door or not
  • When I roll the window up all the way, (this is hard to explain) but the metal on the door that is on the side facing the interior gets pulled towards the inside of the car. This ONLY happens as it makes contact and closes. It's enough to make the door panel move.

Help?
