Hey Guys,

I'm trying to install the GMC led front emblem (part # 84741557) on my 2022 Yukon AT4 but I cant get it to work.

I bought one and tested it before fully installing. It operated oddly, in that it only lit up when the park lamps were on, but not the headlights. I blew it off as I had to mess with some settings, so I fully installed it and then it just didn't work at all. I tested the wiring harness with a multimeter and inspected it for damage and it was all OK.

I figured it was a defect with the LED unit, so I returned the whole kit and purchased a new box.

So I tested the second one during daylight and it only lit up when the headlights (and park lamps) were OFF and then would turn off when the headlights or park lamps went ON (?? so opposite). I waited until night time to try again so I could see it better.

Come nighttime the emblem just will not light up at ALL, no matter what settings I use!

I have it connected to the driver's side headlight and that headlight works 100% still, so the connection is fine at that point.

I'm so confused. Am I missing something? The normal operation of this emblem is to turn on with the headlights at night, right? What are the chances I got 2 defective units in a row?

Sounds like something strange in the wiring. Maybe wires in the wrong spots in the harness between the headlight plug and the emblem? It should illuminate anytime the parking lights and or headlights are on

Just looking at this part number says it will not fit on your AT4.
OMG, I think you're right! SMH! That one's for Sierras. For Yukons, it's supposed to be 84741565. I don't know how I did that. Still, the emblem and harness physically fits. I guess they swapped wires for the Yukon (another WTF factory moment). Ordered the right part, hopefully that works. Thank you.

I had the same problem when installing the Emblem. because in the wiring plus for the emblem was taken from the DRL. having disassembled the connector, I rearranged the plus for the Emblem with DRL to the dimensions ... and everything worked correctly
