I am new on here I have a 2003 Tahoe. I am having a problem and dont know where to start looking. The tach will read low. Idle reads at 0 and running like 60-70 is 1000. I know for a fact that is wrong. Where should I start looking? I am hoping I dont have to get a new cluster and it could be an easy fix. Thanks for any info.

welcome Kenneth, is that the only gauge that is reading incorrectly? Truck runs fine, just 'reads' low?

Mine is the same way, but goes no higher than like 2000 and around 500 when idling. Even when i get on it I have never got above 2k. The rest of my gauges work fine (except for the mph gauge being off but thats cause of the rims). It bothers me somewhat, if its just a sensor then ill replace it but if its the cluster it doesnt bother me that bad!

Agree - stepper motor.. Some were being replaced - wasn't there a class action lawsuit on these Dashes?
