I recently installed some spyder projector headlights on my 07 tahoe. The ones I bought came with 35watt HID bulbs and it simply does not have enough light output. If it's possible I would like to change the low and high beams out to 55watt.

Is there anyone here went through what I'm wanting to do? If so, what did you end up using that you were happy with?

Btw, I did do a search here but didn't come up with what I'm looking for.

Even the 55w aren't going to help. I hate to be the one to say this but the lights you bought are junk. It's the projector themselves that are junk. You can put whatever bulb in it you want and it still won't provide the appropriate amount of light.

Those are ebay halogen 'fauxjectors' ... as in they are just plastic molded to look like a projector lacking any and all of the necessary optics to focus a beam, be it halogen or hid. In essence they are junk and nothing can be done to improve them ... a 55W PnP kit will most likely melt them.

Oh and to answer your question ... yes I went through what you're going through.

I did the trash can mod. :)

Ok that's the kind of response I need. So what is a better option?

My oem lenses are not the greatest.
Is there a well known total assembly replacement that can handle brighter bulbs?

I don't want to invest a crazy amount of money upgrading the lighting, but I also don't want to end up with something halfass such as what I have now that doesn't have any light output. Btw, feel free to post a link here of someone that has been successful with upgrading their tahoe headlights.

This is the best deal I have seen on a proper projector retrofit: http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38270

Otherwise your other option (cheapest) is to get slightly better halogen bulbs in your oem housings.

Just please don't stick an hid plug and play kit in them.

Ok thanks for the responses. I sent the mentioned guy a PM about his lights. Would be nice to see what his setup looks like at night compared to oem.

Didn't get this from BG, but it's a similar setup:

And this is with 4 projectors ... although more light than 2 projectors, it shows you the light pattern:
