so since I recently added a catch can I decided to check on it after 250 miles and noticed more oil than I would have liked inside it. one way I know to check the pcv is remove the oil cap to check for vacuum and it was basically non existant. I'm assuming my pcv is stuck close cause I suppose to have the strongest vacuum at idle correct? since mine is my pcv is part of the valve cover could I get away with trying to spray some carb cleaner to free it up?

You'll get more vacuum if you rev it up in park a little, 2000 rpm.

There is an IMPROVED driver side valve cover, GM# 12570427 did the trick on mine. I'm not sure if your 2011 came with it from the factory of not? I hope someone who knows for sure will chime in here soon.

While you will have optimum vacuum at idle or at least you should, the vacuum drops a little as you accel and then when you level out and maintain speed, the vacuum should then go to optimum again. I am glad I have not had to deal with updated valve covers that some do.

what should I expect the reason for barely any vacuum being felt at the oil cap?. the breather hose on the passenger side has good vacuum. I haven't checked the top on the intake as yet. anyway I can test the pcv with it being 1 piece with the cover? could I possibly be able to clean it out maybe?

I have to say, as an old school guy I used to check a pcv valve by shaking it. Now, with the valve being part of a valve cover, I would have to ask here how to check or google it.
