So I had the local shop pick up my truck yesterday while I was at work. I've been having a strange electrical thing going on. They said it was the alternator. Wanted $410.00 to replace it. Uhh... I don't think so. Figured I'd pull it out and drop it off at a rebuild shop around the corner from my work. I didn't have any idea how to loosen belt tension, but I figured Mr. Google did. Whadda ya know, a video from 1aauto.com showing the exact motor and how to pull the belt. I don't need parts at the moment, but I'm sure it won't be long. If they're willing to go through the trouble to make videos showing exactly what I need to do, I'll be buying my parts there next time! In the mean time I'll let you guys know what the shop charges me to rebuild the original one. Should be done today.

Marv's Auto Electric rebuilt the original one for $55. Took about 20 minutes to put back in. Runs great.

Mark thank you for helping to spread the word about our How To videos. We carry NEW alternators for many different applications on our website.

I shout this from the tree tops because I know how much of a pain dealing with rebuilt alternators from the local parts store can sometimes be.

If you need one and don't see what you need on our site, shoot me a pm and I'll see if it's something that we can get.

Tony
