I have a PS2 I am going to install in my Tahoe. Going through 2 headrest monitors and get power from an inverter.

Has anybody done this? I am trying to figure out all the RCA cables I will need to run the two monitors. Going to do the install while everything is out and do sound deadening at the same time.

Any suggestions or tips? It's the slim PS2 and thinking about putting in the glove box since it never gets used. Then I can have more control over it than the kids, ha ha. Or where ever the wireless remotes will work correctly.

Any help appreciated.

Have you thought of putting it under your second row? I dont know how much you want to put into it but you can always do something like this too

Always wanted to hook it up like that.

Is it possible to run two screens from the same unit. Like playing multi-player and have the screen split for the left on the left head rest and the right on the right? Is that what you are trying to do?

That's nice, not sure if I will go that far. I don't need them to be split screen, just play the same thing, more or less for movies and games once in awhile.

a slim can use a 12v adapter from ebay.

a thick can be user modified to run on 12v directly (hardwire or cig plug).

there is absolutely NO reason to use a noisy wasteful inverter.

you can't split screen a ps2 like how puck is thinking.

to do that you'd need two ps2s, two copies of a game that supports it, and a lan connection between them. then you are playing the 'same game' on two separate setups.

otherwise a simple y splitter on the video is all you need.

What is the audio side? built in IR transmitters? overhead Ir transmitter? wired headphones?

for the wireless controllers... make sure they are not IR. If they are, then you need Line of sight, to the PS2. You are better off getting a set of wired extensions and grafting those into the lower B pillars, or the back of the console.

Damn, I always thought it would be a cool set up to have them split like that but was pretty sure you couldn't. Thanks for clearing it up though Eagle.

How would you hard wire the ps2 without having in inverter? Probably something simple im just not thinking of at the moment.

the thick runs internally on 12v.

when you open one up the lower power supply board is connected to the main board via a 4 pin connector, and the center two pins are
12v+ and negative.
solder a couple of wires there and pull them out the HD bay,
and you've got a 120vAC /12vDC ps2.

ditch the entire powersupply board and you've got a 12v only ps2.

The thin is better in the car though IMO because it uses a spindle mount. That's what I have the rear cubby set up to take.
