When I pulled mine off, I painted the stainless screw-mounts body color, black, and you can barely notice them. I'm afraid of putting a cap on because it might stick up too much and look obvious. What I have seen done though on an S-10 blazer is using the side molding from a cavalier. I didn't think it looked that great, but the guy could have just done a ****** job.

Do you need to fill the gaps with anything? I remember hearing something with trailblazer's and how after taking the rack off, people had to fill gaps in.

I just went through the winter with it covered in snow half the time, and didn't have any problems. I'm kinda hoping that Chevy has the common sense to seal the holes when the rack comes off with simple torque screws. Other forums that I've read people were freaked out, but when you actually take it off, it appears to be sealed really well.

I won't be able to get some pics until next week because I don't have the car with me at college. It takes a couple minutes to unscrew it if you want to just try it out.
