Purchased ACDelco GT231 GM Original Equipment Fuel Tank Cap does not fit

I have a 2005 Yukon SWB 2WD SLT serial 1GKEC13T35R111173 and keep getting and dash code to tighten gas cap. I purchased a new cap ACDelco Gt231 but does not seal all the way. Here is a pic of it tighten. I seem the cap threads needs to be shorter and it will not seat on the seal on the lip of the filler neck. Does any know the correct part number needed?
