Hi all,

We are in the market for a 2015 Tahoe to accommodate our growing family. The final candidates are a black exterior with black leather interior, or a white exterior with the lighter gray interior. We are a busy family with (soon to be) three children. For those of you with experience with the lighter interior, what's your input on keeping it clean? I'm fairly agnostic on either one, but my husband is leaning toward the white Tahoe...while my only concern is keeping it clean.

Any input would be appreciated!

Thanks,
MM

White exterior looks cleaner longer. I have black and looks dirty seconds after I wash it. I do have the light grey interior and I have three kids. I stay on top of spilt drinks and food and I have no problem keeping it clean. I also have floor mats and a towel down inbetween the rear buckets just to help.

I've had both the lighter gray and black interiors. Every crumb, leaf, speck of dust, etc.... shows up on the black carpet. Not as bad on the gray. However, spots and spills can be better hidden on the black.

As far as the exterior goes, the only color that appears clean for a long period of time is the silver. Black looks great clean but gets dirty quick. White looks great clean but every bit of road grime that spins off the tires will show up on the body of the truck.

I've owned several black cars, and my wife currently drives one. They look stunning when clean....and not great even when dusty, let alone when really dirty. I use to look at keeping a black car in top condition as a pleasant challenge, so I put the work in and was proud on the many compliments I received. But not everyone is that way.

If a sharp-looking vehicle is important and you (or your spouse) enjoy the challenge, go with black and don't look back. I'll admit, however, that I'm now in a Gold Mist Tahoe----got a great deal on it-----and I can go weeks without washing it and it looks great because it hides almost everything extremely well.

I've got the light gray interior on my Tahoe. My daughter is just now turning two so we haven't had too much in regards to a mess from her except her kicking her shoes on the seat. Overall the color has been fairly maintenance free in keeping clean. I've wiped it down with some Griots Garage interior cleaner a couple of times in the little over a year I've owned it and it still looks really good.

As for exterior, as others have said, Black looks amazing when clean but that usually doesn't last too long. White will probably look the cleanest the longest but I've always found white to be a bit boring for the exterior colors of vehicles.
