I just picked up a 2007 yukon with the bose system. I'd like to put an aftermarket head unit(screen with dvd player) in it. Best buy wants $150 for a wiring harness. Do I need this? I dont care if the onstar/steering wheel controls dont work. They told me my airbag might go off if I didnt get the wiring harness?!?!

That will not happen, but you do need it to make it work with your car. Buy the PAC OS4 from Amazon, its the best and only $100.
If you don't want the steering controls you don't have to get the extra steering adapter. But it is seperate from the one I just posted above, you do need a factory integration adapter like the OS4.

Spend the money on the os4. If you want to keep the controls all you need is a part i think called swi-jack that should just plug into the os4 and your steerign wheel controls will be functional. Putting a stereo in these cars isnt as simple as older cars. GM doesnt even have a functional acc wire at teh harness because it runs of data. So to put a radio in this car without that special harness you would need to tag it off of you ignition harness. Basically......just buy the harness.
