I get to sit and wait in the glass shop. Rear quarter glass busted.
I can't tell if it was just some ********** vandalism. Or break in attempt.
Seems like a dumb spot to break in. Unless alarm doesn't sound on the quarter glass?

No idea on alarm. If someone was going to break glass to get in I figure they'd just hit the drivers door and do it quick. That's what was done around here some time ago.

kids were going around my area a few years ago busting out quarter windows with pellet guns a few years ago. little bastards got my explorer. worse thing is the replacement windows seal trim is different than original so after that it used to bug the hell out if me the 2 back quarters didn't match.

I got it fixed this morning.
But I remembered after the fact, dog was up at 4 am the other day barking. Could have been someone trying to get in. Hopefully a once in a lifetime.
Repair guy said dont wash or open windows for 5 days? Seems like a long cure time

I can't understand that. You have to open your door to get in and out. Seems like you want a window open so when you close the door there isn't a huge rush of air going against that replaced window.

But, if that's what he wants so be it. At least if it messes up you can tell him you didn't open and he'll have to replace it.

I did some looking online. I cant see anywhere saying 5 days for the mastic to cure.
Its been 48 hours. Ill likely drive it this afternoon. If it leaks or whistles ill just say I waited all 5. I'm not that impressed with them. I had to buff out a few scratches from the install.
