My question is, if I am replacing the OEM wireing harness with a DDM one for my HID's, do I need to use the blue and black wires(power and ground) on the bulb assembly? Or, is it possible to bypass those wires because my new harness plug fits directly into the ballast?

Does that make sense? The wires I am talking about are the ones that would normally be plugged into the OEM headlight plug, then those wires come together into a plug which would be plugged into the ballast.

So, wondering if those wires can be ignored because my DDM harness will now plug directly into the ballast. Sorry if that was confusing

Why is that? My OEM headlight plug will not be conntected to anything after I install my new wire harness.

Are you sure you're hooking it up right?? It's my understanding that the 2 red circles should hook up, then the blue circle should go into the ballast?? Maybe I'm wrong though, I still haven't hooked mine up...IMAGE_052.jpg

No you are correct Boogy. And that was what my question was. I am wondering if it is necessary to do that now that I can plug the wire harness directrly into the ballast. Your description is correct if I am using my OEM wire harness. But the reason you would do it like that is because the OEM wire harness will not plug directly into the ballast, where as my new one will. I could be totally wrong, but I dont see why I would need to use the black and blue wires since my wire harness can plug directly into the ballast?

I am going to try it both ways and see. Like I said, I could be mistaken, but I feel like there may be no need for the blue and black wires since my harness plugs right into my ballast now.

FYI to anyone interested in this. When you install the new DDM wire harness, you do indeed still use the factory harness to plug the poss/neg male ends of the bulb into. All in all, the install was very easy and only took about 20 min and I did not have to pull the head lights to do it. The hardest part was just trying to find a place to hide all the extra wire bulk from the new harness.
