Question about Puddle Lights

Can you install mirrors with Puddle lights on a Tahoe that didnt come with them?

I have powered mirrors and was wanting to add mirrors with puddle lights for two reasons.

#1 The puddle lights

#2 I want to paint the mirror caps to match my truck, as I currently have black plastic textured ones.

I am not sure, but I wouldnt see why they wouldnt work if you have power mirrors.

They seem to be wired for about every option, it is just if the vehicle came with it installed or not
