Radio Lowering Volume for Emergency Vehicles

My wife said that she was driving today and an ambulance drove by her with it's sirens blaring. She said her radio lowered the volume automatically as the ambulance approached and returned to volume once the ambulance had passed. Anybody else hear of this feature?

My guess is it was the Bose Audiopilot, which adjusts the volume for noise inside the cab. If the sirens were close they would probably be loud enough to be picked up.
