I searched the Forum and couldn't find this topic. Sorry if it has been discussed already. Periodically my radio will not shut off in my 2005 Tahoe when I turn the car off and open the driver's door. I have to open the passenger door or one of the rear doors to get it to shut off. Does anyone know the fix for this or have any of you guys experienced this problem?

My 2006 Denali xl does this occassionally. Will turn the key off and open my driver side door and the stereo will stay on. I have to shut the door and open it again and itll go off. Wonder what causes this? I'd imagine there's a shutoff switch in the wiring somewhere that goes through the door or maybe a wired relay or circuit that is supposed to open when the door opens that maybe could be bad. Just my thoughts. If you figure it out or someone else knows id love to know how to fix it too!

I'm betting the interior lights don't turn on as well? If so, it's probably the switch inside the door lock that going bad. It's not sending the signal that the door is open so it's not turning off the RAP and interior lights...

The last time I noticed the radio not shutting off, I had already pushed my dome override button so my interior lights were already off. I shut them off during the day when I detail and have the tailgate open while I'm working on a clients car. So I don't know if they work correctly or not when the radio stays on.

I still think I'm right and it's the lock mechanism in the door. The door switch is built in to that and tells it when the door is open or closed. the RAP is tied to the door opening/closing so it makes sense.
