Radio stops playing

After playing my car radio for about an hour and a half the radio stops playing and then plays for a bit. I also hooked up to an amp. The amp i've had for six years the radio is a year old. i've also had this problem with the radio before this one with the same amp i have now. Could it be the amp?

A little help please. Going to VA. in a few days and i"ll go crazy if i don"t get this fixed.

try unpluging it for 30 seconds it worked for another person i know.
