I heard that today on a radio news station and was wondering if this aligns with the fact that some car orders here expedited lately.
I wonder what the truth is... how much the demand softened and if that will lead to significantly better delivery times AND/OR better falling used car resale value.

Does anyone have more information on that? Did anyone hear something from a dealership? Just interested in more background.

Please let that rumor be true. I'd like a newer bigger truck but not at current used prices

i saw a 2004 silverado for $6400 it did have a v6 engine though I would have bought it if it had a v8 engine i would even settle for a 4.8L the v6 is garbage and can barely get out of it's own way

I wouldn’t be surprised, gas prices are insane across the country. If gas prices go back down, demand for gas guzzlers will come back

of course there’s other market factors such as inflation, looming recession, etc

I don’t think this really applies to the Yukon/Tahoe family.

People who’ve placed their order very late last year and early this year are still waiting for GM to accept there order.

Apparently by the end of the month if GM doesn’t accept you order (not sure the April cutoff) then you get moved to a 2023. If that’s the case, you wouldn’t get your car until the fall. The rest of the orders for 2022s should finish wrapping up by summer time.

I’ve yet to hear anyone on here say they’ve went to a dealer or called one and there multiple Tahoes available for purchase. Almost everything that these dealers get is accounted for before arrival and people get lucky only when a deal falls through.

People are paying over MSRP to get there hands on these vehicles.

Gas prices aren’t going to make the vast majority of people who can afford these cars reconsider.

Is it because you want a v8 or actually need a v8 for towing?

Then again, people who placed their orders very late last year or early this year didn't really have the option of the 2022 Ford Expedition either.

Also, in late 2022, Toyota should start delivering the Sequoia, which in my opinion, isn't as desirable as the GM products but additional competition in the sector does decrease wait times and prices eventually.

As we go into late 2023, Stellantis may even be producing long wheelbase versions of the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Also, the Dodge Durago may use the Wagoneer chassis instead of the Jeep Grand Cherokee L chassis.

All else equal, I'd rather take a 2023 model year instead of a 2022.

Prices will only go up, even if there is more competition in this market.

The wait time for producing cars is an industry wide problem for the most part. Ford is having similar delays if you want to order their Expedition.

As far was rather having a 2023, have they confirmed any material changes from the 2022? I’ve heard most things on constraint or have been just no longer offered should be available, but other than that what is going to be the difference if you can get everything you want in a 2022 versus waiting for a 2023?

I have a 2019 Silverado HC V8 lease that just ended, I got offered $5700 cash by a dealership for me to turn it in there. My new 22 Silverado HC that should be here any day has gone up $2300 since I ordered it, so no, I do not think the truck market is going down.
