I just had a ranch hand grille guard installed on my 03 Tahoe Z71. I wanted to see how much it lowered the front end, but I completely forgot to measure the clearance prior to installation. The suspension is completely stock, and I'm pretty sure the shocks are factory as well. I'm curious if anyone out there knows about how much it probably lowered my front end, and if I need to do anything to correct the change. The grille guard is a standard legend series from RH, which according to them weighs 121 lbs. I would assume that's not enough to cause any problems, but I figured I would reference the experts . Thanks in advance.

121 lbs will make a difference on your front end ride height. Have you ever thought about cranking the torsion bars up a bit?

No I had not considered adjusting the torsion bars, thanks. If I did that, would it require an alignment as well? My main concern is if the lowered ride height or extra weight affect my tire wear, suspension, or something of that nature. I like the way it rides, handles, and looks with the guard. I'm just concerned about the extra weight screwing something up down the line. Thanks

If your alignment was good before the grill guard, I think you should be ok. The 121lbs will affect the truck but should be minimal. These rigs are made to handle some weight so I think you'll be fine. These are just my educated opinions so you might try asking your local shop or wait for someone more knowledgeable to chime in.
