This past week, my 5.7 likes to shut off. Starts up great, but at low idle it wants to shut off every now and then. Mostly when i go in reverse. Saturday, i was slowing down in a parking lot, and as the rpm's were dropping the engine shut off. Maybe Fuel filter not giving engine enough fuel at low rpm?

Clogged or dirty filter would reduce power at higher rpm's, any codes thrown?

The filter would have to be really clogged to have it stumble and die at idle ...

how about checking for damaged wiring in the steering column or resetting the iac valve for giggles? remove and inspect it as well for any obvious damage. it might be causing you grief.
