I've got a 2005 GMC Yukon. It's super clean and has around 60K on it. It's been a great truck so far...just battling a noise issue right now.

I've been getting a rattle/exhaust noise around 1200-1400 RPMs. This only occurs when I'm driving down the road and light pressure is applied to the throttle. If I let off the gas it goes away and if I step on it, the RPMs climb and the noise immediately goes away. The noise sounds like its coming directly below the center console/passenger seat.

I recently noticed that the Yukon was but for the California market...however, I'm in Missouri. Could this be causing an issue with say the cats/exhaust? I'm not real clear on what the differences are between the 49 state and CA model and if running different fuel could cause this type of issue?

Thoughts/suggestions?

Check the rings on top of your O2 sensors, they tend to chatter alot. If there loose just crimp them some to shut them up

The exhaust is all stock.

I read a few things that indicated it might be the o2 sensor rings. I'm assuming those (o2 sensors) are the parts that are screwed into the exhaust system (around the cats for example)? Does anyone know how many are on this type of truck?

Thanks for the help!

Yes those are the O2 sensors, there are 4 on our trucks, 2 right before the cats and 2 right after

It's the rear O2 sensors. I have a 2001 Tahoe 5.3 and it takes Bosch 13474 for the rears. Kragen and local auto parts stores charge ~$68 each. Amazon has them for ~$40. So you save about $70 compared to buying locally if you factor in taxes and such.

I made a thread about it about a week ago.

Make sure your Yukon uses the same O2 sensor as my Tahoe before you buy it.
