You won't get paint to stick to those chrome wheels very well unless you get all the chrome off first...

if you can fit them in your oven you can do it yourself rather cheap but you would still need to lose the chrome...

im on a budget :/ how much is powder coating?

I've heard 200 to 400 if you have the company do everything, take off wheels/tires, remove tires from wheels, coat, remount, etc...

I sent out a few emails yesterday to some companies and if they get back to me before someone replies I will let you know what they quote me. I know it differs from place to place but it should give you a general idea.

If you have time you could try this stuff. I've read of success stories with it. I put it on my bumpers and it didn't work out too well for me but it may for you.

I just got mine done last week. I paid $25 a wheel to sandblast and $20 to powder coat. So all 4 were done at $180. Sandblasting is mandatory due to paint will not stick to the chrome at all. Shop around because the quotes I got were from $4-800 for a set of 4. I found my shop on craigslist.

You can spray them with Plasti-dip. Search online and you will find MANY threads about it on different forums. Some have used it on here but not on wheels. It supposedly sticks to chrome without scuffing the surface at all.

I got a quote to powdercoat my OE Tahoe 20s for $100 per rim and then $125 to paint the 4 caps. Way too much to spend so I may be painting mine also. Atleast mine arent chrome.

That sounds more like it. I need to get more quotes.

mharders - Do your wheels have full centercaps or just little popouts in the center?
